American Influences of Korea

By Jong In Kim

Nowadays, Korean people are beginning to forget their traditions and their past way of living. America has influenced Korea so much that the Korean people are beginning to change their way of living and are now starting to be more American. I wish that American influences on Korea could be all good things and not bad things. If Korea is going to be influenced by another country, it should be something positive and something that would help them and their country. If some bad influences come upon them, they should be able to avoid and reject it. Also, even though we are being influenced by America and Korean people are slowly becoming more American, Korean people shouldn’t forget their traditions. For example, Korean foods like Kim Chi and their way of greeting people with respect. Korean people use a different way of talking to adults. Another tradition is Korean people’s own language. Because all of these (traditions) originated from Korea, they shouldn’t be forgotten even if we are influenced by other countries.
